FAMILY SUPPORT

FAMILY ENGAGEMENT WORKER

The Family Engagement Worker (FEW) is a new role that has been developed in Risdon Prison.  Based on practices to provide prison based family support workers in UK prison Onesimus has developed a team of FEWs to support offenders and their families.

Family Engagement Workers are focused on achieving the very best outcomes for offenders and their families; to reduce re-offending and to safeguard and improve the life chances of offenders' children and their families.

The Family Engagement Worker work directly with offenders and their families and in partnership with a range of professionals in prison and in the community.
